The aim of Transient is to take a personal look at our somewhat unconventional and ever-changing lives. Our existence consists of a mish-mash of patterns and rituals culminating in our end goal; travel, exploration. We jump systematically between a forced routine of work, lethargy, and longing in England and a fluid lifestyle of creativity, discovery and freedom when we’re away. This lack of routine on the road eventually becomes routine in itself.
In today’s world dominated by social media’s overwhelming grasp, stories such as ours often whip up a romantic ideology, a scene where nostalgia and hashtags offer a more palatable substitute for reality.
Stepping away from the Instagram frivolities and fakery, this travelogue will serve as a close and intimate portrayal of our lives in an attempt to remove the romanticism of travel and capture a raw and honest self-documentary inspired by the images and stories of the new age travellers of 1980’s Britain.
